“Prayer is a communication tool which strengthens your relationship with God.”

Welcome November. This time of year, I take time to appreciate the beauty of Hudson Valley of New York State. Like most places in the Northeast – autumn is our time to shine. The picture is from the top of nearby Mt. Beacon and was taken by my dear friend and avid hiker Dina Charles McGuire.

November is a wonderful month for connecting with the divine, our ancestors and our higher self. The month opens with “All Saints Day/All Souls Day” (in many Christian traditions) and the “Day of the Dead” (Mexico).  Coming fresh off of Halloween (10/31) and in the ancient Celtic tradition of Samhain where the space between this world and the other world are at its thinnest, allowing spirits to connect to us.  November also brings us other important dates such as Election Day, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.

Our Theme - “Direct Connect”

Some of us have been led to believe that only a few chosen people can speak to God and that only those who have mystical experiences are worthy. We have been told that mere mortals did not have this ability. This is wrong. We all have the ability to communicate directly with God or the Divine. It is in all of us.

Your ability to communicate directly with God, and your relationship with the divine is, in fact one of the most important relationships in your life.
Establishing a direct connection with God will provide you with the support that you cannot find anywhere else. It will help you to move forward on your soul's journey. And it will give you somewhere to turn to when things seem hopeless which, in light of recent world events, we all might be feeling a bit of hopelessness.

Prayer is a communication tool which strengthens your relationship with God.
— Gugu Mona

Prayer is a form of direct connect to God even if we just say help me, but you don't need to be facing a dilemma to connect with God. You can simply set aside a moment of your day to say thank you for your life.

In prayer you allow all separation between you and the divine to vanish. It is through prayer you direct connect and ask and through contemplation you shall receive.  Ask and it will be given.

November is the perfect time to express gratitude to God because of course, we are expressing gratitude for so many gifts in life at this time of year. Do not underestimate the power of the divine in your life and the need for you to connect daily to express gratitude for all the gifts in your life. Your relationship with the divine is the one thing you can always always count on. And it is one thing that will continually bring you joy wonder and steadfastness especially in troubled times.

Election Day is 11/7. Please VOTE! 11/11 is Veterans Day. Several of my friends and family have served and continue to serve in the military and each year on 11/11 we honor the veterans of America and their service to this country. At this time with unrest around the world, I am sending prayers for those who volunteer to serve and protect us. I am saying to all our Veterans - you are very much honored and appreciated for all that you have done and continue to do. Thank you for your courage and thank you for protecting our country, for your bravery, and for all that you do to make this country safe. Wishing you a happy Veteran's day!

Thanksgiving:

Thanksgiving is a time when we are asked to remember to be grateful, a time of gathering of family and friends to celebrate the final bounty of the harvest before we move on to winter.   It can be a trying time for many as these holiday events can bring up stress.  Please know that we are here at Rose Healing to help.  As we gather around our tables this year, remember to think of those who are serving our country around the world, and those who have served.  Be grateful for all you have and where you live and how.

Thanksgiving Message: As I think about the many things I am grateful for this Thanksgiving season, near the top of the list is the incredible opportunity I have been given to share my healing gifts with all of you through Rose Healing Center. As we enter our 11th year in business, I am deeply appreciative of you - my clients, students, and participants.  I wish you and your families and a season of abundance, gratitude and love. I continue to send my prayer for all those around the world who face war.

Full Moon - November 27, 2023 - The Beaver Moon

The full Moon November 2023 marks a time when some of the first snow falls in the northern US and Canada. It’s a time when most trees and shrubs have shed their leaves. Frost gathers on blades of grass and beavers begin to build their dams before the ground freezes. Hence the traditional full Moon name, “Beaver Moon.” Winter is coming. November’s weather seems to be asking, “Are you ready?” All of the United States and Canadian provinces (except for the most southern states) usually get at least one frost before the first of November, but it becomes more common as temperatures continue to plummet with the days get shorter.

America’s largest rodent knows that late autumn is the time to build a home. Beavers get busy this time of year finalizing their lodges, which is one possible explanation as to how the November full Moon became known as the Beaver Moon.

Measuring up to four feet long from the tip of its nose to the end of its paddle shaped tail and weighing in between 35 and 65 pounds, beavers are widespread across the United States. Only the deserts in California and Nevada and parts of Arizona and Utah are devoid of beavers building lodges this time of year. Learn More at Farmer’s Almanac.

Crystal of the Month - Celestite

Celestite is often associated with divine power and is thought to increase understanding, higher consciousness, as well as mindfulness when used in meditation and prayer. This mineral was first discovered in 1799 by A.G. Werner and named from the Latin word “coelestis”, meaning “heavenly or celestial”. Most of the Celestite on the market today is from Madagascar. The stone is often light blue. Celestite can help us stop worrying about things we cannot control. It is is generally thought of as a calming stone, so it is a great one to reach for if you are struggling with worrisome thoughts or constant "what-ifs."

Celestite is a very high vibrational stone that's energy can be felt easily. It activates your third eye and crown chakra while creating a clear connection between the two. Your unique psychic abilities will become activated, helping to see and understand in a different way. This crystal’s energy also provide calming and soothing vibrations that will radiate into your emotional body. These energies will help “cool” fiery emotions and will support you in maintaining mental clarity so that you are able to make non-emotional decisions. Simply placing a large piece of Celestite on your work desk or in your bedroom can have ample pacifying effects on your mind and body.
