Book of the Month: The Spirit of Kaizen by Dr. Robert Maurer

August 2023 - Blog Theme: Craniosacral Therapy: Small Steps, Big Results

Years ago a friend of mine gifted me the book The Spirit of Kaizen - (Small Steps Big Results) by Dr. Robert Mauer. I loved this book so much I am making it our book of the month for August. This theme of small steps big results made me think about how this idea applies to Craniosacral Therapy.

The power of the Kaizen (small steps big results) is personal for me. I have found from years of doing Craniosacral therapy on a regular basis that it helped me move trauma from my body that I didn’t even realize I was holding. It assisted me in releasing pain and discomfort on a physical level and even helped release mental and emotional discomfort as well.

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on the bones of the skull and spine. It is based on the idea that bones in this area are the body (skull and spine) are not rigid, but rather move and pulse in a rhythmic motion. Craniosacral therapists use their hands to feel for these movements and to gently release any restrictions or tension. It is often a profound method to release stuck trauma from the body.

Craniosacral therapy has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, including headaches, neck & back pain, trauma, anxiety, and depression. It can also be helpful for improving sleep, reducing stress, and increasing energy levels. One of the things that makes craniosacral therapy unique is that it is a very gentle therapy. There is no pain or discomfort involved, and people often feel relaxed and at peace during a session.

Another thing that makes craniosacral therapy unique is that it is a cumulative therapy. This means that the benefits of craniosacral therapy can build up over time. Even after a single session, many people feel some improvement in their symptoms. However, the full benefits of craniosacral therapy may not be felt until after several sessions. If you are looking for a gentle, natural way to improve your health and well-being, craniosacral therapy may be a good option for you. It is a safe and effective therapy that can help you to achieve small steps with big results.

Sound Bath Residency at the Kinosaito Arts Center

I am thrilled to announce I have been asked to offer my sound baths with the Crystal Harp and Koshi Chimes regularly at the Kinosaito Arts Center for the remainder of 2023. This is a unique group experience where participants will sit on a chair or lay down on a bean bag, learn a bit about Sound Baths and sound healing and soak in the sounds of the crystal harp and koshi chimes. A portion of your ticket sale supports the work of Kinosaito Arts Center. Your Sound Bath includes tea and refreshments.

Here are some additional tips for getting the most out of craniosacral therapy:

Be patient. Craniosacral therapy is a gentle therapy, and it may take several sessions to see the full benefits. Be patient and don't get discouraged if you don't feel better immediately.

We cannot become what we want to be by remaining what we are.
— Max DePree

Incorporate other healthy habits into your lifestyle. Craniosacral therapy can be a great way to improve your health and well-being, but it is not a magic bullet. It is important to incorporate other healthy habits into your lifestyle, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep.

By following these tips, you can get the most out of craniosacral therapy and experience small steps with big results. Feel free to reach out with any questions or set up an appointment to experience it for yourself.

Crystal for August - Blue Kyanite

Blue Kyanite is associated with telepathy, empathy, dream recall and high vibrations. A sweet communication stone, Blue Kyanite can have a calming affect on your whole being as it encourages psychic abilities and connection. Excellent stone for the Throat Chakra. This picture is in its raw form where it is a slightly rough stone with a bright blue hue, exquisitely made by mother nature.

Best stone for: Folks looking for balance, those looking to dispel blockages and do better with communication.
