Our Theme for August: Milestones: “Aging Gracefully & Embracing the Journey”

As you probably are all aware by now, I turned 60 in July. It's a milestone, a culmination of decades of experiences, of laughter and tears, of love and loss. For me this birthday feels like a celebration of the culmination of a life well-lived (so-far!) and a wellspring of energy for the years to come. Reiki, Sound Healing and Craniosacral Therapy have become some of the cornerstones of my life’s journey.

Aging is inevitable, but how we approach it is entirely up to us. The phrase "aging gracefully" often carries connotations of defying time or clinging to youth. However, true grace lies in embracing the process, learning to love the person you have become and finding beauty in the passage of time.

For me, I am using this time in my life to embrace a new chapter, and a new way of being - one where my intuition is sharper, my touch lighter, and my connection to the universal life force stronger. It's about witnessing the resilience of the human spirit, not just in my clients, but within myself.  To have arrived at this place - 60 years on the planet - is in many ways is a true miracle to me. So many I have known and loved have not crossed this particular milestone - for they left this planet too soon. I acknowledge with gratitude and love the miracle of turning 60. My intent for the next phase of life is to continue to expand consciousness through wisdom born of surrender, clarity and love both for myself and my clients.

Life has not all been butterflies and joy filled days.  My life has certainly had moments of deep suffering, pain, personal tragedy, loss of loved ones, shocking betrayals and significant disappointments.  But when I look at my life as a whole I can only feel profound appreciation for all of it, even the truly hard stuff.  I have seen trauma up close and personal in my own life and in the lives of many others that I have counseled in the course of my career. All of my experiences, even the hard ones have shown me time and again that there is only one path….LOVE.   I have learned through it all that life really does go on and that whatever we are facing, this too shall pass.

Sound Baths at Kinosaito Arts Center

If you have not had a chance to experience this I encourage you to get your tickets! You will be immersed in a deeply relaxing environment. As I have mentioned before, no two sound baths are alike. Each is experienced from the energy in the room, which includes the art, the people etc. For the next few months we will be surrounded by the art of international women in a new exhibition entitled NON-OBJECTIFIED curated by Kathy Battista. Sound Baths dates through September 2024 are ON SALE NOW. If you are interested in attending one of these events please get your tickets in advance as they almost always sell out.

Milestones Theme continued

I know my spirituality is a wellspring that has nourished me through life's storms. It's a deep knowing that connects me to something bigger than myself and a source of strength that whispers guidance in my ear every day – as long as I pause long enough to listen!  This wisdom isn't about blind faith; it's about experience, intuition, and a profound understanding of the inter-connectedness of all beings.

For me this time in my life is a time of shedding. Of truly letting go of the energy that no longer serve me, while fully embracing authenticity.   I am ready to accept aging in a new way where I celebrate this body – which I have often abused with my careless thoughts and deeds!   I appreciate so much at this stage of life this vessel that has carried me through life's adventures. I am so grateful to have finally arrived at the place in my life where I love my body enough to be fully present in it.

There's a misconception that aging means only decline. Energy Medicine has taught me otherwise. It's shown me the power of inner peace, the importance of self-care, and the beauty of channeling energy for healing, not just for others, but for myself as well.  As I move into this next decade of life, I intend to continue evolving into my soul journey and finding new ways to connect and help others.

Here's what I've learned in my six decades, and what I continue to learn every day:

Strange is our situation here upon Earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why. Yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose from the standpoint of daily life. However, there is one thing we do know, we are here for the sake of others.
— Albert Einstein.

·       Growth doesn't stop at a certain age. The human spirit is ever-evolving. With each passing year, my practice deepens, my techniques refine, and my ability to connect with people on a deeper level strengthens.

·       Energy knows no bounds. Reiki, Sound and Craniosacral therapy transcend age. Whether I'm working with a young person experiencing growing pains or a seasoned client navigating life's transitions, the flow of energy remains the same.

·       Self-care is not selfish!. Taking care of my own well-being allows me to be a more present and effective person for others. Regular Energy Medicine sessions, body work meditation, and spending time in nature are all essential parts of my life.

As I embark on this new decade, I'm filled with so much appreciation and gratitude for the gift of Energy Medicine and Sound Healing and for the incredible people I've met along the way, and for the opportunity to continue guiding others on their own paths to healing. Here's to sixty, and to many more years of channeling the flow!
