Full Moon: September 17th “Harvest Moon”

Our Theme for September “Lifelong Learning”

September, the month that marks the beginning of a new academic year, is a time for reflection, renewal, and the pursuit of knowledge. Summer is waning and fall is in the air and the energies are definitely shifting into that “Back to School” mode.   No matter what our age, we intuitively go into the “back to school” mode.  So, let’s consider that maybe our understanding of learning extends beyond the confines of the classroom.    Learning as a lifelong journey, an ongoing process of self-discovery and spiritual growth.

During this month we also have harvest celebrations, the somber 9/11 anniversary and the Autumn Equinox on 9/22. September is a time where you are invited to check in on where you are at.  What were the gifts of summer this year? What did you wish you had done?  Or what do you wish you had done more of?  Now is the time to write in your calendar for next year some reminders about this.  I find this a powerful practice for myself as I often can forget how fleeting the gifts of summer really are.  It really can seem that summer flies by faster than the other seasons.

911 Memorial and Towers of Light

As they have done every year the “Tunnel to Towers Foundation” will sponsor the tribute in light which illuminates the sky in lower Manhattan on 9/11 as they have for many years now.  If you are not familiar with the amazing charity, I encourage you to learn more by visiting their website: https://tunnel2towers.org/

As we exchange lawn mowers for rakes and bring in the final part of the harvest, thanking the Earth for all her gifts, we are reminded that now is a wonderful time to acknowledge that we reap what we sow.  What were the seeds you planted in spring in your spiritual life and have they come to fruition? As we said, our theme is month is learning. It is in our DNA to have that return to school feeling even if we are adults.

The Classroom of Life

The world itself is our greatest teacher. Every experience, every encounter, and every challenge present an opportunity for learning. The classroom of life is vast and ever-changing, offering lessons in compassion, resilience, and the inter-connectedness of all things.

Spiritual Learning

Beyond the intellectual and emotional aspects of learning, there is also a spiritual dimension to consider. Spiritual learning involves connecting with a higher power, exploring our inner selves, and seeking meaning and purpose in life.

Sound Baths at Kinosaito Arts Center

If you have not had a chance to experience this I encourage you to get your tickets for September - October - November. These will be our final 3 offerings in 2024 at Kinosaito. You will be immersed in a deeply relaxing environment. As I have mentioned before, no two sound baths are alike. Each is experienced from the energy in the room, which includes the art, the people etc. For the next few months we will be surrounded by the art of international women in a new exhibition entitled NON-OBJECTIFIED curated by Kathy Battista. Sound Baths dates are ON SALE NOW for September, October and November. If you are interested in attending one of these events please get your tickets in advance as they almost always sell out.

Continuing our Theme of Lifelong Learning….

Learning is not something that ends when we graduate from school. It is a continuous process that accompanies us throughout our lives. And in today’s interconnected world there are countless ways to expand your knowledge.  By embracing a lifelong learning mindset, we can cultivate a sense of curiosity, openness, and a desire for growth.

As we embark on September 2024 let us commit to exploring the vast classroom of life and embracing the opportunities for learning that surround us. Whether it's through formal education, personal experiences, or spiritual practices, may we approach each day with a sense of wonder, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.

Hematite: A Grounding Stone for Mind, Body, and Spirit

Hematite, a lustrous black mineral with a metallic sheen, is renowned for its grounding properties. It aids in releasing emotional baggage, fostering a sense of emotional balance and healing. This stone is particularly beneficial for those seeking to overcome feelings of anxiety, stress, or overwhelm.

Mental Clarity is another key attribute of hematite. It enhances mental focus, concentration, and problem-solving abilities. Those who find themselves easily distracted or overwhelmed by mental clutter may benefit from the grounding and centering influence of this stone.

Spiritual Connection is also a significant aspect of hematite's energy. It can deepen meditation practices and provide a stronger connection to the spiritual realm. By grounding the mind and body, hematite creates a conducive environment for spiritual exploration and self-discovery.

To access the energy of hematite, you can either focus on an image of the stone or hold a piece of hematite in your hand. As you do so, visualize the stone's grounding energy flowing through your body, bringing you a sense of calm, balance, and clarity.
