November 2019 and the Theme is Gratitude for the Present Moment

Bear Mountain Bridge by Mike Sacca

Bear Mountain Bridge by Mike Sacca

As I have settled back in home from a glorious vacation and spiritual retreat in Arizona, I am reminded to appreciate the gifts of living here in the Hudson Valley of New York State. Like most places in the Northeast – autumn is our time to shine. The picture above is the Bear Mountain Bridge looking towards my hometown – the Town of Cortlandt taken by Mike Sacco and shared on the Hudson Valley in pictures on Facebook. It is so beautiful here that sometimes I can forget to appreciate what is right in front of my eyes.  That can be a common mistake. Learning to appreciate what is right here, right now is the theme of this month.

As I have matured in life, I have begun to appreciate the gifts of each season more. Days are growing much noticeable shorter now,  temperatures are getting colder and the leaves are beginning to fall.   In the past during this time of the year - I would feel myself start to fight off a bit of a feeling of dread of the winter that is to come. But this year, I am much more conscious of appreciating the what is. So recently when it was a perfect 62 degrees and sunny, I decided to give myself permission to leave my desk at lunch time and go for a walk in the park along the Hudson River.  The decision seems so mundane but for me it was huge. Allowing myself a mental and physical break in the middle of my “productive” day was monumental. My decision to go for a walk was two-fold in its design. First I got some cardio in.  Wait? What? Wow I actually incorporated exercise into my day!  Woo hoo.  Second, I was able to breathe in and appreciate the sun and wind on my face, hear the river waves and be engaged in the natural world around me. This is what it means to experience the ‘present moment’.   Now it is matter of continuing to allow myself to take take time in the middle of the day to break from my work and really get outside and invite the present moment. Of course, you don’t have to go for a walk in the park to invite the present moment but it is a start. Movement and awareness of the present moment are things I plan to incorporate more in my own self care regime. What are some of your self care regime ideas? Please share them on our facebook page. www.facebook.com/rosehealing.

veteransday.jpg

November is always a month to embrace gratitude with the arrival of Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.   Several of my friends and family have served in the military and each year on 11/11 we honor the veterans of America and their service to this country.

Thanksgiving Message: As I think about the many things I am grateful for this Thanksgiving season, near the top of the list is the incredible opportunity I have been given to share my healing gifts with all of you through Rose Healing Center. As we enter our 6th year in business, I am deeply appreciative of you - my clients, students, and participants. I wish you and your families and a season of abundance, gratitude and love.

Thanksgiving is a time when we are asked to remember to be grateful, a time of gathering of family and friends to celebrate the final bounty of the harvest before we move on to winter.   It can be a trying time for many as these holiday events can bring up stress.  Please know that we are here at Rose Healing to help.

Crystal Healing:  Danburite

PinkDanburite.jpg

One of the highest vibration minerals currently found, Danburite “connects the heart of the mind with the mind of the heart".  Highly spiritual and sought after for its metaphysical properties, Danburite is a powerful Heart Chakra stone, relieving emotional pain and increasing acceptance of one’s self and of others.  The pure love energy of Danburite brings serenity and peace.

Gentle yet powerful it also works with the Third Eye and Crown Chakras.  A good stone to have around during times of extreme change, and eases the transition of those leaving the physical human form.  A piece of Danburite in your pocket can ease stress and bring calm in difficult situations.  It is a good choice for anyone who is highly focused in the mental body (like academics and engineers), opening the heart and offering balance with the emotional body.

On a physical level – Danburite can assist with allergies, detox, weight loss, muscular/skeletal, Tissue Health, Tumors.  On an emotional level – it is comforting, love, patience, peace, stress reducing.

We utilize Danburite here at Rose Healing along with a variety of other healing crystals.

October 2019 Blog and the theme is Exploration

The RHC blog is delayed this month because I just returned from a magical vacation in Arizona where I was in Sedona and the Grand Canyon with wonderful friends and my fellow healer Betty Sue Hanson who will be teaching Reiki 1 on 10/13 at Rose Healing.

DoglookingoverCanyon.jpg

That trip helped to inform our theme this month of “Exploration”. Sometimes it can feel like so much effort to travel and yet in the end it is always worth it to me. For this trip, I had to really embody the Brene Brown quote “Today I choose courage over comfort” .   I have a fear of ledges – not necessarily heights as much as ledges so the Grand Canyon is probably one of the scariest places on earth for me. But also the most magical.   Another great image below from the Grand Canyon. This dog was way braver than me!

The main image above - two ravens, one male – one female landed on the tree branches on the edge of canyon just a foot away from me. I knew it was a message not only for me but also for you my friends.  So when I returned I looked up the spiritual meaning of Ravens appearing in your life. The following is partially from Ted Andrews Book “Animal Speak”:

“Ravens symbolizes the cosmic forces that are at work in your life and that you can achieve your vision with the power of your imagination.  It is a time of spiritual rebirth a message that a transformation will be taking place soon.  Raven also symbolizes recovery and healing a time to let go of unhealthy habits. This part of the insight about Raven made me really laugh.  The Raven totem is a message for you to conquer your fear because on the other side of fear is something big and wonderful.   Keep a sense of wonder and curiosity alive inside because this is how you will challenge yourself to know more and be more.”

We also stayed in the magical Sedona, AZ where many of you may be familiar is a place said to be filled with energy vortexes which are spiritual locations where the energy is right to facilitate prayer, meditation, and healing.

The Sedona Vortex sites are believed to be locations having energy flow that exists on multiple dimensions.  For me personally the three most powerful locations are Airport Mesa, Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. I had the incredible fortune to again experience the power of these locations and I look forward to bringing that energy to all of you.

Finally we visited several amazing Crystal Shops I came home with a few smaller specimens for individual work and sale.

September 2019 Blog - Theme is Learning

Summer is waning and fall is in the air and the energies are definitely shifting into that “Back to School” mode.  While the early portion of the month of September often continues to have a summery feeling, we already can sense (at least here in the Northeast) an early Autumn coming.  During this month we have back to school, harvest celebrations, the somber 9/11 and the Autumn Equinox on 9/21. September is a time where you are invited to check in on where you are at.  What were the gifts of summer this year? What did you wish you had done?  Or what do you wish you had done more of?  Now is the time to write in your calendar for next year some reminders about this.  I find this a powerful practice for myself as I often can forget how fleeting the gifts of summer really are.

As we exchange lawn mowers for rakes and bring in the final part of the harvest, thanking the Earth for all her gifts, we are reminded that now is a wonderful time to acknowledge that we reap what we sow.  What were the seeds you planted in spring in your spiritual life and have they come to fruition? To that end, I am offering another Sound Healing Meditation Circle with Crystal Harp on Sunday September 15th

As we said, our theme is month is learning. It is in our DNA to have that return to school feeling even if we are adults.  So in keeping with that we have a few new and exciting learning opportunities at RHC:

August 2019 Blog - Theme is "Balance"

AugustinSand.jpg

There are a few theories on how August got its name.  The most popular one is that August is named to honor the Roman emperor Augustus, a man renowned for his leadership skills.  August continues the energy of summer (at least at its start) with art & music festivals, county fairs, visits to the mountains or beach and general summer energy.  It is also the time where we begin to see signs of autumn’s harvest theme.   We slowly become more aware that the sunlight is slowly waning.   We honor the gifts of the garden and harvest that which was sown in Spring.

ADKSkayak.jpeg

We have a sense of soaking up that last bit of time at the beach or the mountains. Really filling our bodies and souls with the energy of nature and summer.

BacktoSchool.jpeg

August accentuates community and connection through its gatherings.  It is a time to enjoy the remaining warmth of the earth, celebrate the cycles and generally make yourself more aware of how you use your time.  Fall it just around the corner and we can really feel the energy ramp up even in Mid-August as parents, teachers and students of all ages begin to turn their focus to September. So use this time wisely. Remember to put yourself on the list and get in some time in nature and maybe some bodywork too like a session at Rose Healing!

Oracle Cards

balance.jpg

Oracle Cards are different from Tarot Cards and are a wonderful way for people to start learning to trust their own intuition.  A modern invention, these decks come without the years of history and “rules” that go with the realm of Tarot cards.

Oracle cards – sometimes called decks – are sets of cards with pictures and meanings that are specific to the vision of the creator(s) of the deck.  They can have any number of cards, from as low as 20 to as many as 144 — though 44, being a Master Number, most often make up the deck.   For August, I was guided to Doreen Virtue’s Healing with the Angels Oracle Cards. This deck was the first Doreen Virtue deck I owned and still one of my favorites.   The card we received is:

 BALANCE

Interpretation from Doreen Virtue: When you think about living a "balanced life," what thoughts and feelings come to you? What areas of your life need more time devoted to them, so that your personal needs are balanced with your other responsibilities? Gaining balance is an ongoing process, born of each choice we make about how to spend our time. God gives us the strength and discernment so we need to make wise choices.

What is helpful: Pausing to pray and contemplate before saying yes to an activity.

What isn't helpful: Blaming others or feeling guilty, if your life is unbalanced.

Today and each day: Make the commitment to balance your daily schedule, to include time for what's important. This is a part of spiritual growth and self-care.  It can help to set aside even 10 minutes in your morning to meditate and consider what is important.

Here's a helpful prayer:  Dear God, Please clearly and strongly guide my choices and decisions, so that I spend my time and other resources on true priorities. Please give me the strength and self-control to say No to distractions.

July, 2019 Blog - Theme "Spiritual Independence"

Happy-4th-of-July-1075x400_b.jpg

The theme of “Independence” is timely because on July 4th we celebrate American Independence day.  The War for Independence is one of my most favorite history lessons with the themes of political sovereignty from oppression and the ability for US citizens to become self-governed, self-directed and self-responsible. It is the ‘great experiment’ which continues to this day.

This theme carries over easily into a metaphysical interpretation at the personal level.  So what does it really mean to be self-governed, self-directed and self-responsible?      How are you using tools of observation and awareness to help guide you in your day to day decisions?

True Spiritual Power cannot be given, earned or purchased, for it is a natural energetic resource that we all possess and that we have access to.  Nor can authentic Spiritual Power be taken from us. We can forget this, so this is your reminder.  It is also import to remember that NO outer circumstances, no circumstance, no political leader, no co-worker, friend, sibling, spouse etc. has the power to shape your reality … unless you let it.

Spiritual independence and expansion is a practice. Just like we work out out muscles to gain physical strength, our spiritual muscles also need a work out. Please know that Rose Healing is here to help.

Crystal Pyramid Sound Healing Tool. Many of you who visited Rose Healing know that I include sound healing in my individual sessions and events.  It is always customized to the individual and the energy of the day. It can be drums, crystal bowls, rattles or bells.  One of the most powerful tools I have been trained in has been the “Crystal Singing Pyramid”.   This is played over the body during an individual healing session.

The Crystal Pyramid Sound Healing Tool.

The Crystal Pyramid Sound Healing Tool.

"The pyramid form is a statement of perfection and balance.  It is one of the highest geometrical shapes found on the physical plane.  It represents conscious connection with the infinite source, and and physical stability at the base.  They are symbolic of the ultimate balance that each soul must achieve to complete its evolutionary process." I utilize this energy in sessions by reminding clients that we have to remember to be connected and grounded to the earth and open to the heavens.  "As above, so below".  Sage Academy of Sound.

The sound of a crystal singing pyramid being played over the body induces deep cellular healing within the meditation state. Crystal vibrations reduce stress, reconnects us to our higher spirit, massages the body, and also helps to restore balance, and align our mind-heart-cosmic connection.  If you would like to experience the crystal singing pyramid, please contact me.

Geranium oil originates from South Africa but today it is cultivated worldwide.  It has a floral rose-like aroma and is steam distilled from the plants fragrant flowers and leaves and this and has been used for centuries to support beautiful healthy skin. Geranium oil calms and relaxing the body and mind and is used traditionally to support the circulatory and nervous systems, a great deal of its strength lies in its ability to revitalize body tissues. In my practice at Rose Healing Center, I find geranium particularly helpful with the release of negative emotions and memories.  It assists those who are grieving a loss and helps to diminish fears of abandonment.

Sound Healing has become such a huge part of my holistic practice for both individual sessions and group.  For several years now, I have been using Tibetan Bowls, Crystal Bowls and Drums in my individual practice. Then last spring, I was introduced to the Quartzophone Crystal Harp when visiting Maine. I knew as soon as I heard this instrument that I was supposed to own one and play it. For the past year, I have offered regular sound baths for groups at Rose Healing Center with the Crystal Harp. This past week, I was interviewed by Kacey Morabito Grean on her Shine On Radio/Podcast - see above to hear the podcast and listen to a free sound healing.

I was in Maine again this past week at the beautiful Love Light Illuminations Center where I was first introduced to the Crystal Harp. I am happy to announce that Cheryl Banfield will be returning to the Rose Healing Center to teach a Special 2 day Event on October 26th and October 27th where she will teach us about Living in the Light and having us journey with our newly evolving light body centers. This event is limited to 10 participants and will sell out quickly.

UPCOMING EVENTS
